Go Hard or Go Home!

I'm sitting here finishing a one-day old bottle of New Year's Eve Champagne as I write (the old upside-down teaspoon in the opened bottle does a surprisingly efficient job of keeping the bubbles! Hey, I'm committed!)

Here it is - 2017. And what a beauty she is!

Call me spiritual; call me intuitive; call me a nut job - I FEEL this is going to be a brilliant year!

Perhaps you created a list of resolutions at New Year. Fantastic!! First of all though, let's call them goals. There is too much baggage associated with the word 'resolutions'.

Perfect - so let's start with that list.

Which of them are you prepared to commit to 100%?

Be brutal and go through the list. If there are any that you cannot in all honesty commit 100% to, then they should not be on your list. What's on your list?

  • Resign and find your true purpose and passion?
  • Take control of your career or business and get what you desire from it?
  • Travel to South America and walk the Machu Piccu trail?
  • Get out of that relationship that is just...well, OK?
  • Stop giving so much, and start asking and receiving?
  • Draw a line in the sand and start living EXACTLY as you desire?

All awesome.

I've suddenly fallen in love again...

...with the concept of the 100% Rule. Jack Cranfield, a New York Times best-selling author several times over created this idea. He writes that if you're going to do something, it is easier to do it 100% than 99%. That 1% difference wastes a lot of energy and time - the 1% of doubt takes up substantially more in "Shall I/Shan't I?" "Can I/Can't I?" head-noise and procrastination.

I love the idea - 100% or 0%; just not 99%

So in keeping with that idea, on New Year's Day when it was -4 degrees Celsius (about 25 degrees Fahrenheit - not cold for a lot of my readers, but more than my 'fragile' bones can tolerate!) I 'umm-ed' and 'ahh-ed' about whether to go but I got out and exercised (- and unusually, I was the motivation for my man who is normally incredibly disciplined about exercise); because Health & Positive Energy are my #1 values for the year - and if I'm going to do it, I'm JFDI! 100% or 0%.

So that list, then - what remains?

Which of your list will you commit to achieving, being, doing, feeling in 2017? No 'ifs', no 'buts', no 'ums', no 'ahs' - just 100% YOU showing up for yourself.

My personal advice is to have a short list - perhaps 3 or 4. These make them meaningful goals or desires, not those frivilous fairytale wishes; just raw, pulsating desires! (Phew!)

What are you going to commit to 100%?
