Happy Monday all you lovely people!
I am so full of it right now!
If you'd seen my last couple of Facebook Live videos, you'd know I've been grinding away at my business relentlessly for what seems like forever without much of a break. The grinding has been necessary; without a break? Not so much.
I was fortunate to enjoy the weekend in a chateau in the Loire Valley, just outside Chinon here in France. Magnificent grounds - lunch under the lush trees, superb wines recommended by the knowledgeable sommelier, and a wonderful gastronomic menu. The afternoons were spent snoozing and reading by the pool waiting for an equally gastronomic experience at dinner (tough life!)
A weekend of pretty much nothing - eating, drinking, sleeping, reading...and it couldn't have come at a better time.
With several solid months of nose to the grindstone on my business, I needed to get away. As an entrepreneur, it is so easy to be sucked into the vacuum of work, knowing there is always something to be done, something that will bring you closer to your goals, but it doesn't serve us well to work like that incessantly.
If you're not feeling refreshed and full of vigour, neither will your business. Your business is a reflection of you, and if you are feeling low-vibe, so, too, will the business. It's in the times away from the computer, I find my inspiration again. The maelstrom of thoughts that have been swirling around in a frenzy find a calm place and settle, the best of which simply popping up in my head, shouting "Pick me!"
It's called inspired action
So, here I am back at the desk on Monday morning feeling refreshed, energetic, with a clear view of what I need to do over the next few weeks, to help me build my business and see my income increase.
It's called focus...
...and with relentless focus comes success. I have committed myself to get away more regularly, get out of town, enjoy the scenery and let business take care of itself from time to time. It's not a nice-to-do, it's a necessity for the business.
Feeling the same? Don't panic, step away from the computer, and find your own peace. Let the ideas wash around until one pops and raises its hand.
